In the following pages I will discuss British (and international) television advertising, how it began and its theory. How cultural, social and technological climates affect the adverts and how the adverts affect us. The first part of the project will discuss how advertising started in Great Britain, which will lead onto a history and theory of advertising up to the present day (including examples on the accompanying multimedia compact disc). Then I shall describe the steps of production of the...

ah. slem is back! the second in his double ep blitz, lampjuice is certainly the darker of the two. perhaps (in my opinion) the stronger sounding, harder and more defined of the two (my personal favorite also), the tracks are epic on their own, each produced to perfection and progressively entrancing like the last. the tracks range from mellow to slightly distorted but their production is flawless - download and listen... and listen again.

Welcoming another British artist (two in a row now, it must be the weather) to the Kahvi fold, Keith. These tracks define the crossover period between the classic early ninetees techno with good old IDM, even including influences of r'n'b and soul (you can hear if you listen carefully). Moody, intellectual and stimulating tracks, detailed and complex in their construction. Definately a case of listening again and again to pick up any details you might have missed earlier...

4T Thieves is back, with an EP in his usual style - a journey from chilled beats into dance, moving onto ambience and then finishing with a large and fast finish. All the tracks are previously unreleased apart from Tidal Blues, which is an extended version of an earlier hellven.org release. I think there's something for everybody in this massive release....

In the immortal words of Monty Python, `And now for something completely different.` This best describes this audio treat from Crud - South American flutes mixed with traditional Finnish instruments meets sequencing and analog synthesis. Refreshingly different!

A guest release - a progressive track, with analog white noise brings in a slow and booming bassline, building and building into a rather dark track.

Welcome to Stud, a guest artist coming from the depths of cold cold Siberia, but, judging by this first release, the quality of his tracks are going to be an excellent addition to Kahvi.

A delicious blend of addictive melodies, submerged basses and some cool grooves, this is tasty to the extreme, a track you can go back to and play over and over again - originally written in XM, with a few spices added later.

My tribute to Erik Spåre, otherwise known as Parsec/Cytax. who decided this world wasn`t a place in which to stay - a shock to all Cytax members from the oldschool times. This one's for you, man - that oldschool style; hypnotic, mellow and addictive.

Something a bit special, once again from Epoq - ambient beats and dark, quiet sounds make a real atmospheric track. Special permission has been given to release this track - it's a remix of a track by Tim Koch (Shorts In Alaska, out on DeFocus Records).

Pinza returns with a track of epic proportions. Sweeping pads with a dash of slightly quirky antique FM synthesis, filtered drums and pounding bass, layer upon layer of sounds and a feeling of depth. Great stuff!

Kenny returns with a track in his indomitable style. A collage of smaller tracks in his usual elektro funkiness. In his own words: `I wanted to combine acoustic drums and strings with the good old elektro sound, creating a diversified, adventurous soundtrack`. It's fresh, have a listen..

Cool deep bass drops us into a track not unlike the Bad Loop masterpieces, though with Stud's style - not quite so ambient as his previous releases but again, something refreshingly simple. Definitely one to go back to again and again.

Starting off as a simple beat, this guest release forms into a wall of sound with hidden depths. There's certainly more of a groove to this track than usual Kahvi stuff, but Aaron has come up with a unique sound, digital with a rare analogue warmth. More tracks from Aaron Jasinski? Watch this space..

A one-off track this time, a remix of one of Introspective's releases (Kahvi #51b). I thought it was a bit short, so I commissioned a special extended version of the track and I think Introspective has come up trumps with a great version for us. Enjoy.

Here are a selection of tracks - probably some of the best quality tracks we`ve seen on Kahvi to date. Thanks go to Budha Building for letting Kahvi release these tracks!

Our man from deepest Siberia returns, with a huge minimalistic EP dedicated to the inventor of cellophane. Ranging from the addictive melody of '1908' to the strangely unpredictable tune in 'Louis XV Antiques', the tracks give a picture of how life was in the early 20th Century, combining atmospheric sound effects with modern instruments.
